Comets smack Chitwins 56-20

The Naselle Comets improved their season record to 7-1, 5-0 in league play, with a 56-20 win over the Taholah Chitwins last weekend.

The Comet ground game took control in the wet and windy conditions. Naselle scored twice in the first quarter for a 12-0 lead and three times in the second for a 40-0 halftime lead. Erik Lund scored four touchdowns; Antonio Nolan and Fa'aoso Tutu'u each scored on long runs, and Parker Dalton retuned a pass interception for a touchdown.

The Comets head to Sunnyside this Friday for a 5 p.m. game against the 8-0 Knights, who are the second ranked team in the state Associated Press poll.
