Lower Columbia College has announced that Devery S. Anderson will be featured at the October 16 Northwest Voices event in Longview. First, Anderson will conduct a writing workshop from 3:30-5:00 p.m., in Main 146 on the Lower Columbia College campus. From 7:00-8:00 p.m., he will hold a reading at the Longview Public Library. Both events are free and open to the public.
Anderson is an editor and marketing manager at Signature Books in Salt Lake City, and is currently working on a master’s degree in publishing at the George Washington University. He is the editor or co-editor of several books on Mormon History, and in 2015 the University Press of Mississippi published his book, Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement. It will be the basis of a Hollywood miniseries produced by JayZ, Will Smith, Casey Affleck, and Aaron Kaplan. He has spoken on Emmett Till at colleges, universities, and elsewhere in the United States and the UK.
