The Wahkiakum Mini Mules won their season opener against A+ transmission from Longview by a score of 28-26.
The Mini Mule train was led by Zakk Williams with four rushing touchdowns and Quincy Evans had two extra point kicks which proved to be the difference maker. Defense was tough causing five turnovers.
Zakk Williams, Nathan Garrett and Grant Wilson each had a fumble recovery. Jacob Johnson had an interception with a long return to the 1-yard line and Braden Avalon had an interception as time expired to seal the game.
The next Mini Mules game will be played September 16 at Kelso High School at 2:30 p.m.
