Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Cathlamet resident Jim Kolberg journeyed to Maupin, Ore., to view the August 21 solar eclipse in totality. He took the time to cut some holes in some paper and held it up to his camp chair to create this face with pinhole projections of the eclipsing sun. Overall, viewing the eclipse was a very moving experience, he said. Photo courtesy by Jim Kolberg.
