LCC Commencement is set for June 16

Lower Columbia College’s 81st annual Commencement will take place on Friday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Kelso High School’s Schroeder Field.

This year’s Commencement speaker is Bill Stoller, Founder and CEO of Xenium. Stoller is also the founder and vice chairman of Express Employment Professionals. As president and founder of The Stoller Group, he owns 24 Express offices in Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and California. Stoller attended LCC in 1970 and 1971 and was inducted into the LCC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017. Stoller also owns and oversees Stoller Vineyards in Dayton, Oregon.

Approximately 400 LCC students are expected to participate in the ceremony, which is a celebration of degree and certificate student completers in addition to those earning their high school credentials. Over a hundred faculty and staff, in addition to college administration, will also be in attendance. Approximately 2,000 guests are also expected.

LCC is expecting to award the following credentials this year (numbers subject to grade verification at the end of spring quarter):

• Associate Degrees: 582 (this figure includes 108 Running Start students who are earning their high school diploma and associate’s degree concurrently)

• Certificates: 57

• High School Diplomas/GEDs: 96

Graduates and guests are invited to attend a reception sponsored by the LCC Foundation following the ceremony.
