Graduation ceremonies underway this week

Spring is in full swing and for lots of local students, it’s time to graduate.

With baccalaureate and their Evening of Excellence behind them, Naselle High School seniors are enjoying a three day trip to Sunriver. This weekend they will take their final steps as high school students. Graduation starts at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 3, for the Class of 2017 in the NHS gym.

Ceremonies will begin for Wahkiakum High School seniors with baccalaureate on Wednesday at 7 p.m. It’s in a new location this year, the United Church of Christ on the corner of 3rd St. and Maple.

The next day, there will be a Scholarships/Award Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. in the Wahkiakum High School gym.

On June 9, graduation will commence for the WHS Class of 2017 in the high school gym.

Kindergarten students in Cathlamet will have their own promotion ceremony on June 14, at 2:15 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Room at J.A. Wendt Elementary School, and eighth graders will celebrate Moving Up the same day at 7 p.m. in the John C. Thomas Middle School gym.
