A free household hazardous waste turn-in event will be held in Cathlamet on June 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the PUD parking lot.
Bring fluorescent tubes, straight or curved shapes, CFLs (compact fluorescent), HIDs (high intensity discharge), such as metal halide, mercury vapor and high pressure sodium; any light that contains mercury. A limit of 10 mercury-containing lights are allowed per person.
Other materials will be accepted from residents at this event, such as paint, motor oil and cleaning products, up to 25 gallons or 200 pounds.
After the event drop off up to 10 lights per day at no charge at Longview Ace Hardware, Searing Electric and Plumbing or Bredfield’s True Value Hardware in Castle Rock.
