Norma L. Kriesel, 96, passed away on May 12, 2017 in Lacey, WA.
Norma was born in Christine, ND on November 19, 1920. She married Harold E. Kriesel on March 31, 1940 in Albert Lea, MN. She was predeceased by her husband and is survived by her three sons, Dr. Harold Kriesel, Rev. Keith Kriesel, Steve Kriesel and their families, including six grandchildren, Sara and Christa, Susan and Nathan, Brian and Beth, Tim and Chris, and eight great grandchildren, Emma and Ellie, AJ, Elise and James, Evan and Mia, and Suzu.
Norma had a multitude of careers, most notably running three businesses with her husband in Kent, WA. She alway held a special place in her heart for her time living on Lake Sawyer. Norma was extremely proud of her three sons, their families and accomplishments. She as an active member in the Lutheran church her entire life. Norma enjoyed exploring the world, traveling to Hawaii, Cayman Islands, Norway, Alaska, Australia, and Brazil, among others. Some of her adventures included going to the ice caves of Mount Rainier, water skiing on Lake Sawyer, snorkeling off Australia’s coast and traveling down the Amazon river.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 18 at 1 p.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 2109 College St. SE, Lacey, WA, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Good Shepard Communities, a charity Norma held dear to her heart. http://www.gscommunities.org.
Norma was very proud of her Norwegian heritage, often saying “And avey vi go!” Indeed, she said this the evening before she passed on. She will be remembered with love.
