Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
It’s time to start planning for the 2017 Bald Eagle Days Parade. This year’s theme is “Rolling on the River.” Put your thinking caps on, talk to your friends, family, and co-workers. Get creative and celebrate the mighty Columbia River. Build a float, get a group together and walk, show off your trucks, tractors, boats, motorcycles, and more. Get that special car out, get it all shined up, and slow cruise the streets of Cathlamet through the parade. Bring your pets and your horses; dress up as a clown or a dancer. Show off your imagination. It’s going to be a great year for a parade.
Those interested in participating in the 2017 Bald Eagle Days Parade can get an entry form in this week’s edition of The Wahkiakum County Eagle, download it from our website at http://www.wahkiakumchamber.com or pick up a parade entry form from Skamokawa Resort, Bank of the Pacific Cathlamet Branch, Vanwinkle Espresso or the Chamber office at 102 Main Street. Contact the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce at 360-795-9996 or via email at wchamber@cni.net for more information.
Those interested in helping plan the parade, may join the Bald Eagle Day Planning Committee. They will meet weekly on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m., in the Scarborough Meeting Room, 102 Main Street, Cathlamet.
