Great White Tail Run set for May 20

The 33rd annual Great White Tail Run sponsored by Wahkiakum 4-H will be held May 20 beginning at 10 a.m. The course, set for 10K, 5K or 2 mile walk or run is through the Julia Butler Hansen National Wildlife Refuge in Skamokawa.

Recognition will be given for overall male and female winners in each event and ribbons for the top three finishers in each age division.

Fees for the event are: Pre-run $10 w/out shirt, $20 with shirt. Run day: $12 w/out shirt and $25 with shirt. Add $1 if you are bringing your dog and want to compete for an award in this division. Family or youth group discount: First two entries of immediate family/group regular price, each additional entry is $3 off regular price.

Official dog rules: Socialized dogs only. Dogs should be at least six months old with current vaccinations. Dogs must be on leash at all times and stay on the designated course. Female dogs in season are not permitted.

Pre-registration is encouraged with run forms available locally including the WSU Extension Office in Cathlamet. Download online by going to http://extension.wsu.edu/wahkiakum/. Mail in entries must be received by May 17. Run day registration and packet pickup begins at 8:30 a.m., at Skamokawa Vista Park.
