Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Bald Eagle Fest will be held on July 15 this year and the Wahkiakum County Chamber is ready to get started planning. Residents are asked to help design the day beginning with the street fair at 9:00 a.m., the parade through town, the kids play area, music, a celebration of logging and more.
The first meeting of the Bald Eagle Fest planning committee will be held Thursday April 20 at 4:00 p.m., in the Scarborough Meeting Room next to the Chamber office which is located at 102 Main Street in Cathlamet.
Everyone is invited to submit ideas for the festival. Any and all ideas are welcome; this is the Chamber’s biggest town event of the year, and they want to make it exciting for everyone.
For the artists, crafters and business owners in the community, start thinking about selling your wares at a booth. Vendor applications are ready to go, stop by the Chamber office and pick one up or visit their website http://www.wahkiakumchamber.com.
The next meeting will be held May 18 at 4:00 p.m. June meetings will be every two weeks starting at 4:30, and July meetings are usually held each week until the event.
