Track and Field

The Wahkiakum High School Mules track and field team joined eight other schools in competition at a Central 2B meet in Rainier last Thursday. The Mules finished in ninth place in boys’ competition with two points, and tied for fourth with Willapa Valley with 47 points in girls’ competition.

For the girls, sophomore Macie Elliott continues to dominate the 400 meter race. She took first place with a time of 1:05.95, a new personal record.

Sophomore Ellie Leitz took second place in the 800 with a time of 2:45.83. She also placed fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 28-04.50.

Junior Grayci Thomas finished the 800 in fourth place with a time of 2:54.55.

Sophomore Trinity Klecker took sixth place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.67, a new personal record. She also took fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 58.06.

Senior Rayanna Carlon placed second in the discus with a distance of 84-06.

Sophomore Charlie Ashe cleared 4-04 in the high jump and took sixth place.

Sophomore Mckensi Fluckiger leaped 29-02 to take fourth in the triple jump.

The relay team of Ashe, Thomas, Fluckiger, and Elliott took second place in the 4x100 relay with a time of 56.16. Ashe, Thomas, Leitz, and Elliott took third place in the 4x200 with a time of 2:00.16. Thomas, Fluckiger, Leitz, and Elliott finished the 4x400 in third place with a time of 5:02.72.

For the boys, sophomore KC Beery took fourth place in 800. His time was not posted.
