Missoula Children's Theatre in Cathlamet next week

Missoula Children’s Theatre is returning to Cathlamet next week to cast students in a production of Alice in Wonderland.

All Wahkiakum students, K-12, are invited to audition for a role in the play. Tryouts begin at 3:15 p.m. on Monday in the J.A. Wendt Multi-purpose Room. More than 50 students will be needed for the production.

Traditionally, rehearsals are held each day after school during the week that MCT is in town.

The play will be performed twice on March 25, at 3 and 5:30 p.m.

MCT has been touring for 40 years, putting on performances from schools all over the US. They’ve even gone to Japan. This year, they have 47 teams planning to visit more than 1,000 towns. The teams arrive in communities with everything they need to put on a performance, minus the cast, with the goal of exposing students to theatre arts. Their mission is to develop “life skills in children through the participation in the performing arts.”
