Community center to hold open house

The Community Center in Cathlamet has announced that they will hold a Grand “Re-Opening” Open House on Saturday, February 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Paige Lake from the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce will start it off with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Join them to learn more about the Community Center and the opportunities it provides. They have several clubs and activities, such as Book Club, Bunco, The Walking Group, The Brown Bag Lunch Group, Woodcarving, Wahkiakum Acoustic Guitar Society and Free Friday Movie Night.

There are groups that utilize the center for their monthly meetings, such as The Wooden Boat Festival and The Wahkiakum Community Network. Some future events they are planning include an informative presentation by Wahkiakum on the Move, a Volunteer Fair, a Seed exchange, and regularly scheduled WorkSource seminars, to name a few. They will have live music during the day from local artists and WAGS. Refreshments will be served.
