Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Margie Lucille Moore passed away suddenly February 8, 2017. She was born January 26, 1936 in Bellingham Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert Hisle, Shadow and Boots Burdick, brother Travis Burdick and son-in-law Steve Stamper.
She is survived by her partner of 41 years Bob Hendrickson; her children Cheryl Stamper and Wayne (Nancy) Moore; Bob's children, Ron (Linda) Hendrickson, Dave (Sandy) Hendrickson, Larry (Sandy) Hendrickson, Joan (Dirk) Zeller, Heidi (Tom) Aasen, Carol (Pat) Ross; and Bob's grand and great grandchildren; her sisters Meritia Sturtz, JoAnne Gust, Pat Sundahl, and Trena Ashe; and many nieces and nephews.
She was loved greatly by her eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Her children, grands and greats were the pride and joy of her life. She was a great champion for her children and grandchildren. If those children were playing sports she was there watching and cheering them on.
She will be missed by her family members and many others in the community. She was loved by so many.
Margie had a green thumb the size of Alaska and always had the most beautiful hanging flowers in pots everywhere. Her deck was something you'd see in Sunset magazine. She waited impatiently every spring to get those flowers planted so she could sit out on her deck in the sunshine enjoying them.
You never left her house with an empty tummy or without a hug and a kiss whether she'd seen you 100 times or it was your first time meeting her and she always sent her family off with an "I love you." You knew you were loved!
You also never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. Her honesty telling you her opinion sometimes would shock you and make you laugh.
But, she touched the heart and soul of everyone that met her.
Life is going to be dimmer and duller without you Margie, mom, sister, grandma, friend!
But the stars will shine brighter.
We love you so much!
Her services will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 - 12:00 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church on Puget Island (549 WA 409) with a reception to follow in the Fellowship hall at the church.
Dowling Funeral Home of Cathlamet is in charge of arrangements.
