Kick off your Christmas shopping at “A Country Christmas,” St. James’ annual bazaar this Saturday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a great variety of gift items to choose from including handcrafted jewelry, cards, ceramic tiles, coasters, aluminum picture hangings, photography, walking sticks, baskets, journals, paintings, soaps, CDs of original music, ornaments, cookbooks, etc.
The Children’s Christmas Store will be open to children 12 and under, no parents allowed; nothing priced over $1. Attendants will assist children with choosing and wrapping gifts. A bake sale will feature Scandinavian and holiday goodies. Live music by Fred Carter and Kathleen Petersen throughout the event will enhance the holiday atmosphere.
Lunch will be available from 11:30 to 3:30--Shannon's clam chowder, salad, nachos, chili, hot dogs, chili dogs, desserts, hot cider and coffee. The raffle drawing for several gift baskets will be held at 3:30 p.m.; need not be present to win.
Bazaar proceeds will benefit St. James Family Center’s programs for children and families. The event will be held at the family center at 1134 Columbia Street, Cathlamet.
