The Wahkiakum Mules volleyball team split games this week and brought their record to 6-2 in league play.
Last Thursday on the road, the Lady Mules beat Adna in four sets, 25-18, 22-25, 25-17, and 25-23.
"Overall, this was a well played game," Coach Kayli Hurley said. "Adna has a couple weapons and we struggled to adjust at first, but picked up our level and pulled it out."
Savannah Burdick had 12 kills. Macie Elliott had five kills.
"Elliott had some big momentum plays at the net," Hurley said. "RayAnna Carlon put up some big plays offensively."
Hurley also praised Mckensi Fluckiger for strong defense.
On Tuesday, the team lost to a tough Mossyrock team in three sets at home, 25-20, 25-19, and 25-17.
"We struggled to put it all together tonight," Hurley said, "especially offensively. In general, we played okay ball but the spark that I feel is such a huge part of my team wasn't there."
Hurley praised Elliott for "big defensive plays" and Amber Silva for being "steady in the back court."
"Savannah Burdick was on fire in the back court serve receive," Hurley said. "She averaged 2.5 out of a possible three with 14 digs."
The team travels to Kalama tonight (Thursday).
