Amanda Gibson-Horman

Amanda Brooke Gibson-Horman, 34 of Cathlamet died on September 21 at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle due to heart complications. She was born on July 10, 1982 in Longview.

Amanda was a lifelong Cathlamet resident. She graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 2000. She worked as a cashier, cook and a caregiver at several local businesses over the years. She enjoyed her children, astrology, and flower gardening.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Larry Horman Jr., her son, Gage Horman and daughter, Amy Horman, a brother Jon Arness, two sisters, Brianna Arness and Shelbi Jaksha, parents, Karen Arness and Steve Arness, grandparents, Louise Arness, Henry Blankenship, and great grandmother, Muriel Blankenship and four nephews, as well as a large extended family and many friends.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandmother, Glenda Blankenship and grandfather, Ole Arness, as well as her uncle Jody Blankenship.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 29 at 2 p.m., at River of Life Assembly of God Church in Cathlamet. A visitation will be held on Thursday from noon to 5 p.m., at Dowling Funeral Home in Cathlamet. A private inurnment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet. Dowling Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
