Down River Dispatches
I’m writing this week’s column at the kitchen table of my son and daughter-in-law in “sunny California.” Believe me, if I didn’t have family and friends here, I wouldn’t be either. So many people on top of each other, so much traffic and construction everywhere. That said, I am having a wonderful visit with everyone.
It has been a very long time since I visited the place we raised our children. I am making a point of seeing how things have changed and those things that have remained the same since we left nearly 17 years ago. Kind of bittersweet but in a “healing” way. This was a good trip for me to make at this time, and today marks the 3-month anniversary of Del’s passing.
It will be so good to come home though. Grays River is home, and always will be.

When Doris Miller meets John Fremont, the new art director for the company she is employed by, She falls hard for the younger guy and pursues him by showing up at places he frequents {which is totally out of character), endearing herself to his friends thereby causing problems with her longtime friends and family. But despite the objections, she follows her heart for the first time.
