Robert J. "Butch" Rodal

Butch passed away on September 3, 2106 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.

Butch was born on September 12, 1940 in Longview, Wa. to Jennings and Rita Rodal. He grew up in Cathlamet, Wa. graduating from Wahkiakum High School in 1958. He lived in the Longview and Kelso area for the majority of his adult life.

He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965.

Butch was employed by Doumit’s Grocery, Standard Dairy, Grandma Cookies, Mother’s Cookies and Tim’s Cascade Chips before operating his own business, Butch’s Distributing.

He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing with his buddies but his greatest passion was his classic car which he showed in numerous car shows throughout the region.

Butch is survived by his brother Jim (Janice), nephew David Hughes, nieces Heather Freudenstein (Andy) and Kristin Page (Jeff).

At his request there will be no services.

A celebration of life will be held on September 24, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Shamrock Tavern in Longview, Wa.

In lieu of flowers please give to the Fisher House Foundation or to the American Cancer Society.
