Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Good thing is, it was a nice day yesterday (Monday). I grabbed a hat, a chair, water and my camera and watched the young osprey until dusk, breaking only for dinner with my husband. So here's the scoop; the juvenile osprey I should call Sissi because it cried all day and didn't like the shakes on our roof. She kept sliding, and when she was able to hold on, acted as though she had splinters in her feet. Mom did a couple fly overs with a fish but couldn't get close enough to feed again. Somehow mom convinced Sissi to fly to the power pole next to our driveway. There she was able to feed her the fish she was carrying and make her quit crying. Sissi stayed on the pole until around dusk and then remembered she had wings and flew away.
