Wahkiakum County Department of Emergency Management will test the county's Emergency Community Notification System (ECNS) next Tuesday eventing.
The ECNS is the system that the sheriff’s office uses to rapidly send out emergency information to the residents of Wahkiakum County.
"This is one of the most effective ways rapidly for us to contact you," said Emergency Management Coordinator Beau Renfro. "All standard land line telephones are set up to automatically receive calls; however your cellular telephone is not. You need to visit http://www.co.wahkiakum.wa.us/dem.html or contact the Sheriff’s Office to add yours.
“Please take a minute and reregister to receive these important and possibly even lifesaving messages.”
For more information, contact Renfro at renfrob@co.wahkiakum.wa.us, 795-3242, 465-2202 or visit the website at: http://www.co.wahkiakum.wa.us/dem.html.
