Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
May 9 - 1:25 p.m. A caller reported that locks had been cut at a fish hatchery in the Elochoman Valley. 2:51 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a fence had been installed on his property by a neighbor, cutting off access to his water tank. He also reported that his neighbor had been using the front yard to gain access to his own property, claiming it was an easement. The caller was advised to contact a lawyer about a property line dispute. 7:57 p.m. A driver was taken into custody after a vehicle stop west of County Line Park. 11:55 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale business. The owner was contacted.
May 10 - 9:03 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who may have had a stroke. 10:18 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident with chest pain. 11:22 a.m. A Rosedale resident complained about dogs running loose. 11:24 a.m. A caller reported that someone had broken into a boat in the Cathlamet marina. An individual was taken into custody. 12:30 p.m. A caller reported two suspicious males loitering on school property in Cathlamet. 2:55 p.m. A caller reported two suspicious bicyclists in the Elochoman Valley. 3:21 p.m. A caller reported that a horse on a Skamokawa property was being neglected. A deputy checked on the animal and noted that it looked thin before making contact with the owner. The owner said the horse had always been thin and said that it was given a bale of hay and a large coffee can of "all stock grain" every day. 5:56 p.m. A caller reported that a truck pulling a trailer had broken down along SR 4 in the Rosedale area. 9:40 p.m. A caller reported that a couple were fighting in their front yard on Puget Island. A deputy spoke with the couple. They denied that they were fighting and said that this was not the first time that an officer had come to their home. They were just loud, the couple said.
May 11 - 4:50 a.m. A Cathlamet resident living in an apartment complained that a neighbor was making a lot of noise. 11:13 a.m. A caller reported the theft of several items from the marina in Cathlamet. 11:28 a.m. Deputies, the Skamokawa Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to the report of a rollover accident. 4:27 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a Skamokawa resident. 6:16 p.m. Deputies, state patrol and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to an accident on Puget Island. Life Flight transported one injured person to the hospital. 6:36 p.m. An assault was reported at a Rosedale home.
May 12 - 9:58 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 11:12 a.m. A caller reported that he had just noticed that his vehicle had been struck recently. 3:19 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that mail had been stolen from his mailbox. 7:40 p.m. A caller reported that two teenage drivers sped down a Puget Island road every morning and afternoon. She said that they were rude when she tried to confront them.
May 13 - 5:36 a.m. A caller reported a power outage in the Elochoman Valley. The PUD responded and restored power. 7:32 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who may have had a stroke. 9:32 a.m. A caller complained about a vehicle blocking a boat launch in Skamokawa. 7:42 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 in the Rosedale area. 7:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident.
May 14 - 9:03 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident with respiratory issues. 10:05 a.m. A caller reported trespassers on her property in Skamokawa. 11:08 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who had fallen. 6:42 p.m. A caller reported that cameras had been stolen from a business in Rosburg.
May 15 - 2:13 a.m. A caller reported that a driver who was attempting to leave a Skamokawa business had accidentally struck the building with his car. 3:40 p.m. A caller reported that a deceased dog had been run over a second time in the eastbound lane of SR 4 in the Rosedale area. The caller asked that the animal be removed. 4:45 p.m. A driver was taken into custody after a vehicle stop. 8:32 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that a woman and child were seeking shelter after their vehicle broke down on KM. The caller said that the two could stay at her house for the night. A representative from the mental health department said she would follow up in the morning. 8:55 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported two missing juveniles. They were later located. 11:25 p.m. Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident in the Skamokawa area. There were no injuries reported.
May 16 - 2:33 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident. 5:36 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island address. 6:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale youth who was having a hard time breathing.
