Elizabeth Zimmerman

Emily Elizabeth (Miller) Zimmerman, known to all as Elizabeth,died April 29, 2016 at her Grays River residence. The daughter of Glenn and Emily (Boyer) Miller, she was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 24, 1924. As a student she was active in 4-H, later becoming a leader, and was an accomplished seamstress.

Elizabeth received her education at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in Westminster, Maryland. In 1963 she came west with her family, settling in Gearhart, Ore. She moved to the family farm in Grays River in 1975 where she lived until her death.

Elizabeth was a well loved wife and mother as well as a hardworking and joyful homemaker. Following college, she was a graphic artist. She was an avid gardener, loved reading, and was a devoted member of Valley Bible Church in Rosburg, Wash.

On June 30, 1948 she married Paul Robert Zimmerman in Washington D.C. and they made their first home in Annandale, Virginia. He preceded her in death. Surviving are her children Paul Robert "Bob" Zimmerman of Warrenton, Ore., Albert (Susie) Zimmerman of Torrance, Calif., Elizabeth Ann (Steve) Reeck of Vancouver, Wash., John (Bekalyn) Zimmerman of Grays River, Charlie (Kevena) Zimmerman of Longview, Wash., Tom (April) Zimmerman of Grays River, and Dan (Tari) Zimmerman of Grays River; 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Jeanne Eloise (known by close family as Eloise) Truitt of Green Valley, Ariz.
