Last Thursday, the Wahkiakum Mule baseball team put an end to the Toledo Indians' perfect season, splitting games in a double header. The games had originally been scheduled for Friday but were moved forward due to the weather forecast.
The Mules lost the first game 1-2, despite a home run from Zach Brown. James Anderson pitched the entire game and took the loss. He struck out six batters, and allowed five hits and two runs, one of which was earned.
The Mules won the second game 7-4. Terris Record was 1-4 and drove in two runs. Cody Terpsma went 1-2 and also had two RBIs. Z. Brown was 2-3 and drove in one run.
Record pitched six innings and got the win. He struck out four and allowed seven hits and four runs, three of which were earned. Z. Brown finished the game and got the save, striking out two and allowing one hit.
Despite the win, the Mules fell to fourth place in league play with a 10-4 record, 12-4 overall.
The team traveled to Morton/White Pass on yesterday (Wednesday) for a double header. Scores were not available by press time.
Their final doubleheader of the season is at home against Adna next Tuesday. District play begins May 7.
