Richard L. Mathers, 71 of Kalama, died on April 22, 2016. He was born in Longview on September 15, 1944 to Sidney and Inez (McIntyre) Mathers.
Dick attended Wahkiakum Schools prior to entering the Army in 1962. He worked for 30 years as a carpenter and 15 years at M & R Painting.
On June 18, 1966 he married Paulette Mackey and they had three sons, Terry, Kevin and Bob who survive him in addition to a brother, Gary Mathers and a sister Linda Ashe. He was preceded in death by a sister Sandy Mathers and a grandson Jessie Lynn Mathers. He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends.
An inurnment service will take place at Greenwood Cemetery on Saturday April 30 at 11:00 a.m., and there will be a Celebration of Dick's Life at the Elochoman Slough Marina at 12:30 p.m. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
