Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
It’s time to start planning for this summer’s Bald Eagle Days Festival. Creative, energetic, and dedicated people who are interested in helping with planning this year’s event are being sought.
The first meeting is slated for Wednesday, April 20 at 4 p.m., at the Scarborough Meeting Room, 102 Main Street, Cathlamet, next to the Chamber office & Visitor Center. Chamber members and community members are all encouraged to attend the meetings and join the 2016 planning committee. Responsibilities will include: determining this year’s theme, Grand Marshal, family activities, kids activities, and more. Planning committee meetings will occur twice a month, and then will be held more frequently as the event draws closer. Volunteers are needed for many aspects of the festival; this would be a great opportunity for high school students to accumulate volunteer hours for college applications and other high school requirements.
For those unable to attend this first meeting who would like to provide input, call the chamber at 360-795-9996 or send an email to wchamber@cni.net.
