Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The Wahkiakum Mule golf team posted the season's best score, 197, beating Ilwaco, 200, for the first time in school history.
The Mules also secured head to head wins versus Adna, 213, and Napavine, incomplete, to raise their season record to 10-5.
Eighth grader Tyler St. Onge shot a personal best 48 to tie Sarah Shi for fourth best out of the 19 player field. Also shooting a personal best was freshman Zach Johnston, 49. Sophomore Bryce Good quadruple bogeyed the first hole to shoot 52. Eighth graders Gage Horman and Elijah Doiron shot 61 and 63.
Ilwaco's Blake Kukula, 42, Adna's Logon Boone, 44, and Ilwaco's Aslyn Fisher, 46, finished first, second and third for the match.
The Mules continue to improve each match which is a great pattern to follow. A lot of parents and guests showed up for the match. It was great to see the course full of people enjoying the sunshine and the competition.
The next match is at home after spring break on April 11 at Skyline Golf Course against North Beach and the Willapa Harbor schools.
