Last Thursday, the Wahkiakum Mules track team traveled to Adna for their first meet of the season to compete against Adna, Mossyrock and Pe Ell.
The Mules took first place in girls’ competition with 104 points.
Freshman Trinity Klecker placed first in the 100 meter race with a time of 14.70. She also took second in the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles with times of 18.74 and 59.09 respectively.
Freshman Charlie Ashe placed fifth in the 200 meter race with a time of 32.36. She also placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.51 and second in the high jump, clearing 4-06.
Senior Tyra Elliott placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:09.46. Freshman Destiny McGowan placed fifth with a time of 1:21.47.
McGowan also took third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.81.
Freshman Ellie Leitz won the 800 meter race with a time of 2:57.03. She also won the triple jump, clearing 29-11.
Freshman Macie Elliott won the 1600 meters with a time of 6:04.87. She also won the discus with a toss of 86-07.
Senior Bryanna Peek finished the 3200 meters in 21:45.37 and took second place.
Junior Tarah Wisner placed third in the shot put and second in the discus with a distance of 27-01 and 71-06 respectively.
Freshman Mckensi Fluckiger won the javelin event with a throw of 84-11. She also placed second in the long jump and third in the triple jump, clearing 13-09 and 29-05 respectively.
Senior Rory Heywood won the high jump event, clearing 4-06. She also took fourth in the long jump with 12-08 and second in the triple jump with 29-05.
Cheyenne Barton, T. Elliott, Klecker and Grace Peacock won the 4 x 100 relay with a time of 55.93. The relay team of Ashe, M. Elliott, Fluckiger and Leitz took second with a time of 59.04.
Barton, R. Heywood, Shona Heywood and Peacock placed second in the 4 x 200 with a time of 2:03.21.
Barton, M. Elliott, T. Elliott and Leitz won the 4 x 400 with a time of 5:14.93 and the team of Katharine Choi, S. Heywood, Anna Kuhn and Mia Li placed second with a time of 6:29.37.
The Mules took fourth place in boys’ team competition with 19 points.
Sophomore Flavio Stucki placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:29.23. He also placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 15-07.
Junior Putter Thongkijlaohachai took third in the 3200 meters with a time of 14:09.08.
Freshman Seth Kuljis placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 63-09.
Senior Ryan Quigley took second place in the high jump, clearing 5-00. He took fourth in both the long jump and the triple jump with leaps of 16-08 and 34-03.5 respectively.
The only home track meet of the season begins this afternoon at 3:30 at the high school. The next meet is scheduled for April 14, after spring break, in Napavine.
