Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
March 22 — 9:43 a.m. A caller reported that neighbors on Beaver Creek were cutting down trees, camping and dumping garbage everywhere. The caller said that another person was concerned about possible drug activity and had seen one of the renters walking around the property with his pants down. 10:01 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that he had shot a dog attacking his sheep. 10:55 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a domestic disturbance. An individual was taken into custody. 2:24 p.m. A Beaver Creek resident reported ID theft after receiving calls from debt collectors regarding accounts he had never opened. 2:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an activated medical pendant alarm at a Rosedale residence. 7:37 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on a Puget Island road. 8:31 p.m. A Puget Island resident witnessed two men pull up to his neighbor’s home and run around to the back. They returned a few minutes later and drove off. The caller reported that he had contacted the homeowner who was at work and said that no one was supposed to be there. The caller agreed to keep an eye on the residence and a deputy checked the area.
March 23 — 11:52 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked at a dump station in Deep River since the first of the month. The caller said that there were food items and bags in the car and that it looked like someone was living in it. 1:36 p.m. A caller requested assistance for a vehicle that had broken down near County Line Park. 4:02 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported an attempted burglary after finding damage to a door. 6:19 p.m. An individual in Cathlamet could be heard screaming on an open telephone line. A representative from the mental health department responded. 6:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an individual in Cathlamet who had been assaulted. 8:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet address. 11:17 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to the report of a power outage in the Elochoman Valley. The PUD restored power.
March 24 — 4:07 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident. 11:57 a.m. A caller reported a loose cow on the side of SR 4 just west of Skamokawa. 3:44 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that his mailbox had been bashed multiple times in the last two weeks. 6:06 p.m. A Rosburg resident broke his foot when one of the trees he was felling landed on it. The Grays River Fire Department and the Grays River ambulance responded. 6:25 p.m. An alarm was activated on an ATM in Cathlamet.
March 25 — 4:04 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an activated medical pendant alarm at a Rosedale residence. 5:57 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who had fallen. 9:31 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had fallen. 3:38 p.m. A caller reported that a window had been broken on his boat parked in the Cathlamet area. Several items had been stolen.
March 26 — 10:59 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that some things had been stolen from his shop in the last year. 11:50 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported hearing glass break after someone had pounded on her door. Four minutes later it was quiet. 2:17 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading west near County Line Park. 3:10 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a dead deer on the side of the road and asked to have it removed. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 4:13 p.m. A caller reported a speeding vehicle on an Elochoman Valley road.
March 27 — 10:32 a.m. The mental health department was contacted after someone complained that he could no longer live in a tent at a Skamokawa Park. 1:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had suffered a stroke. 6:29 p.m. A caller complained about a vehicle that was blocking half of a Cathlamet street. The owner was contacted and on his way to move the vehicle.
