Fred Wyman Stanley, 73, of Cathlamet, died March 20, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born in Kelso on April 25, 1942, to Russell and Clara (Kent) Stanley.
He was a member of the Kelso High School Class of 1960 and married Crystal Moorcroft on December 23, 1960.
Fred was a self-employed farmer and owner of Stanley's Sanitary Service. He was a member of the Washington Refuse & Recycling Association, Cathlamet Christian Fellowship, Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce and was a commissioner for Cemetery District No. 1 of Wahkiakum County.
He enjoyed traveling in his RV and spending time at Sky Valley, Calif., camping with friends and family. Fred never knew a stranger and loved visiting with friends, family, strangers and fellow farmers.
Survivors include son Brian (Juanita) Stanley of Cathlamet; daughter Jodi Duffy of Longview; borrowed son Patrick McKay-Beach of Cathlamet; borrowed daughter Jodi Camrud of Billings, Mont .; brother Rick (Debbie) Stanley of Longview; sister Penny Stanley of Castle Rock; sister-in-law Carole Anne Stanley; nine grandchildren, Chase, Maya and Solana Stanley, Emily Williams, Alyson Duffy, Julieann, Abbigail, Alysa and Rachel McKay-Beach and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, April 3, 2 p.m., at Wahkiakum School Multi-purpose Room, 265 S. Third, Cathlamet, with the Ken Evans officiating.
Donations are suggested to Hospice or Greenwood Cemetery. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
