The 2016 Wahkiakum Mule baseball season got off to a good start with four wins in the last week against Naselle, Vernonia and Mossyrock.

"Our pitchers did a good job keeping hitters off balance," Coach Marc Niemeyer said. "As a team we ran the bases well. It was a good game defensively, and offensively we put the ball in play. Good things happen when you do."

Pitcher Anderson got the win for game one. Luke Brown went 1-3 with an RBI. Z. Brown was 2-3 with three RBIs. Casey Wilson hit a double and drove in two runs. Colton Mace went 1-3 and had an RBI.

"We swung the bats really well in both games and the men did a good job executing at crucial times," Niemeyer said. "I'm really proud of their determination and focus to win the second game."
