Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The young Mules had a tough start of the 2016 season at one of the most challenging golf courses in the State, RMG, Oakbrook in Lakewood, WA .
The 4 person total of 224 fell 26 shots short of Life Christian's 198 and Ilawco's 210.
Junior lady Sarah Shi's 48 led the boys team and finished 5th out of the 16 boys that played and 2nd best among the 9 ladies that competed. Sophomore Bryce Good struggled from the tee box all day and shot 57 which was way off his regular game. Freshman Zachary Johnston shot 59 which was amazing for a brand new golfer with just 9 practices. It was his first ever 9 hole round.
Eighth graders Tyler St. Onge 59 and Elijah Doiron 69 were disappointed with their first ever High School match but kept their spirits up throughout the entire round.
I was proud of the entire team's effort. Things didn't go as planned but every player is anxious to get back to work. Next match is home at Skyline Golf Course on Monday, March 21st against the three teams from Willapa Harbor (Raymond, South Bend, plus Valley) and Northwest Christian from Lacy, WA.
