Wahkiakum High School's Key Club is sponsoring a week-long drive to raise funds for Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
The Key Club is taking part in a fund raising program called Kids Making Miracles. Middle and high schools collect funds which benefit the hospital's services for children.
Club members have announced a schedule of events to raise funds; the public is invited to participate in some of them, including:
--March 12 – A Spaghetti Dinner and the Mr. Wahkiakum pageant. The dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. and Mr. Wahkiakum at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 for Mr. Wahkiakum and $10 for both. The venue is the WHS Gymnasium.
Mr. Wahkiakum contestants will compete in catwalk and talent and in questions and answers.
--March 18 – Movie Tailgate at 7 p.m. behind the high school grand stands. A movie will be projected on to the grand stand, and refreshments will be available. Tickets are $3 for ages 9 and under, $5 for ages 10 and up.
--March 20 – Mother Daughter Tea at the Columbia River Ranch, Puget Island, 2 p.m. Admission is $6 per person. There will be entertainment as well as refreshments.
Tickets for Mr. Wahkiakum and the spaghetti dinner will be available for sale at the high school at any time and the Bank of the Pacific.
Tickets for the Mother Daughter Tea will be available at the High School office at any time and will also be available at the Bank of the Pacific starting on March 14.
