To the Editor
Your voice does matter! No matter which of the presidential candidates you favor, and even if you favor none, it is important that you make your opinions known to those in your government. Your vote is the only tool you have to express your pleasure or displeasure with your current economic condition and the political and social situation around you. Not only yours but also your childrens’ future depends on the kind of government we, the people, choose in November. If you feel helpless and hopeless about your and your country’s situation, don’t just complain--let “them” know officially by voting!
For supporters of either party, the monthly meetings are the first step. In this presidential election year, both parties have several pre-(November) election get-togethers. Democrats caucus, Republicans convene. At the respective caucus/convention, you can air your thoughts and opinions and tell “them” who you think should undertake the mission of making our country great again or bring our great country together again by selecting your delegate. The Republican Party will convene on March 12 at 10 a.m. at the Skamokawa Grange. Democrats will caucus on March 26 at 10 a.m.; those living east of KM Mountain will meet at the JA Wendt Elementary School Multi-purpose Room; voters living to the west will caucus at the Rosburg Hall where the big garage sale is held on the same day.
Let’s stop complaining and do something! If you need a ride to the March 26 caucus, please call 795-3025 and you will be taken to your caucus site and taken home thereafter. If you are unable to attend (health reasons, disability, no car, etc.) but want to make your opinion known, please call 795-3025, and we will bring an affidavit in a postmarked envelope to your door so that your voice will finally be counted. Completed affidavits have to be received by the Washington State Democratic Party in Seattle by March 18, so please call today.
