LaRita Bennett

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, LaRita Lucille Bennett, was called home to our Heavenly Father on March 1, 2016. Born June 25, 1931 in Minnesota, she and her parents, Inez and Jesse Turner came to Washington in 1935 where she spent her childhood.

She married Forrest Glenn White on June 6th 1949, raised four children until his passing in 1958. She later married Fred Valero Bennett on Dec 6th, 1958 and had four more children. Rita was an avid Scout leader and later received the award of silver beaver for her service. She also loved spending time with family, crocheting, and was the best cook in the world. She had a miraculous green thumb and could make any plant grow. Rita was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and gave many hours of tireless service. Fred and Rita often opened their hearts and home to others.

LaRita is survived by husband of 58 years, Fred, her seven children LaRee Engel (Fred), LeAnne Kroll (Ted, deceased), Mark White, Valerie Wardle (Richard), Laura Bennett, Fred Bennett Jr. (Janae), Matthew Bennett (Heather), Shirley Magnuson, 23 Grandchildren, 33 Great-Grandchildren, one Great-Great-Grandchild, and four siblings Willie, Sharon, David, and Mike. Momma we love you and miss you, please don't hit us with your purse when we get there.

LaRita is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bud, and son Forrest Glenn White Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at the Messenger Hill Drive LDS chapel, March 5th, 2016 with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Fern Hill Cemetery, Skamokawa, WA. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
