Robert Fauver

Robert Fauver, of Deep River, died February 15, 2016. He was born April 20, 1927 in Spring Valley, Minn., to David C. and Blanche (Stuhr) Fauver. His family moved from Minnesota to Deep River in 1937. He graduated from Naselle High School in 1946 and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea during World War II. He returned to Deep River and married Marcia Harrison in 1950. They had four children and later divorced.

Bob worked as a timber faller for several logging companies, retiring after many years from Kenny Wirkkala Logging, in 1980. He farmed beef cattle until four years ago. He was fondly known as Deep River Bob.

He is survived by two sons Harland (Connie) Fauver and Craig Fauver; two daughters, Carmelle Brownlie and Dianne (Keith) Wirkkala, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his second wife, Joanna in 2010; by five brothers, Jim, John, George, Dave and Joe Fauver and one sister, Dorothy Reeder.

A graveside memorial will be held at Peaceful Hill Cemetery in Naselle on Saturday, February 27 at 1 p.m., with a luncheon to follow at Rosburg Community Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Community Home Health and Hospice, PO Box 2047, Longview, WA 98632 or Peaceful Hill Cemetery, PO Box 501, Naselle, WA 98638.

Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
