Commissioners of Port District 2 worked through a light agenda when they held their monthly meeting Tuesday at the office in Skamokawa Vista Park.
Manager Janet Bryan reported the US Army Corps of Engineers has informed her that there will be no deposit of dredge spoils at Vista Park this year.
The port sells sand to contractors and road builders, and much of the sand previously deposited has been sold.
"I'm not sure how much more sand we can sell out of there," she said.
In response to a question from Pleasant Point resident Jon Peterson, Port Attorney Tim Hanigan reported that he is proceeding with the legal process to identify the owner of a boat and other property that has been left on port property along the road.
It was suggested that the boat and trailer could be towed into Vista Park while the process is underway and the port could begin cleaning up the property.
In other business, port officials and Peterson, a representative of the Westside Water District, discussed the connection needed for the laundromat the port is planning to build at the entrance at Vista Park.
Peterson said he had discussed with the district's engineer whether or not the 3/4" line that would serve the facility would be adequate for a laundry.
The engineer said the situation depends on the size of the washing machines and the amount of use.
"His recommendation is to see how it goes," Peterson said. If there's a problem, it would be quite reasonable to upgrade the line because the site is so close to the main.
"We'll see what the machines need," Bryan said.
Construction will proceed once plans are completed and approved.
