Corey G. Johnson, 38, of Puget Island has been charged with Assault in the First Degree. The charge carries a possible maximum sentence of life in prison and/or a $50,000 fine plus restitution and assessments. Bail started at $30,000 but was lowered to $15,000 in court on January 20, 2016. Two no contact orders have been issued. He remains in custody.
According to the probable cause report, on January 4, 2016, Johnson allegedly pointed a weapon at the head of another individual. When the weapon was deflected, Johnson fired a shot, just missing the man. They wrestled and the other man was able to take the weapon into his possession.
