Wahkiakum youngsters got even the Winlock supporters to smile during half time of the Mules basketball game against the Cardinals on Friday. Kindergarteners all the way up to eighth grade students were ending their week of the Mini Mule Cheer Camp with a performance alongside their teachers, WHS cheerleaders.
"We're number 1! We won't be number 2! Cause we're going to kick the whoopdy out of you!" brought some hoots and hollers from the appreciative crowd. The girls' personalities were on display, some shy, some exuberant, all delightful.
"The kids worked very hard all week to put these cheers together, Cheer team advisor Kate Brenner said. The audience seemed to love them."
They really did.
