We would like to thank everyone who helped make the Scholastic Book Fair a super successful fair: Angela Velke, Renee Robert, Beth Struntz and everyone who helped! You all did an amazing job! This was one of the best fairs we’ve had in years and it would not have happened without the help of the many volunteers and the many patrons who took a peek at what we had. All of the events that we held during the fair were a success. Thank you to all who attended! All funds from this go into our school library and for books for students and classrooms. It’s a win, win.

And regarding the Fall Box Top Collection classroom war: The Mini Mules worked very hard for this. Mrs. Sauer’s class won! They were 13 ahead of Mrs. Wright’s class. Way to go! The next collection will be in February and this time it will be by student. The student that turns in the most clipped and taped to a sheet of paper box tops will win a $40 Fandango gift card and some other cool stuff. Second place will receive two gift certificates to Cathlamet Video and some extra goodies. Third place will be a Cathlamet Video gift certificate and some other tokens. So, if you happen to see one of these box tops on anything, clip and save it to give to your favorite Mini Mule. I am sure that they will appreciate it. All funds raised from this goes towards projects and field trips. Our school goal is $2000 this year, so let’s keep our eyes open for these little things. Like I always say, “It’s the little things that mean the most!”

We will also host a “Mini Mule Santa Shoppe” this winter. The dates are from November 30 through Saturday, December 5, daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will be held in the portable on the back side of the school, behind the middle school. It is open to the public. Please park in the rear by the garden. Items are priced for youths to be able to purchase a nice gift for family and friends. Items include pillows, jewelry, cups, Seahawks items. Fliers have been sent home with students. This would be a great time to offer up some chores for the little ones to earn money for the Shoppe. If anyone would like to volunteer a couple hours of time to help make this a super success please contact Bobbie Gaines, 360-431-3661 for further information. All funds accumulated from this are for our Field Day expenses. The last day of school seems to be far off, but we all know, time flies!

The Parent Teachers Organization for JA Wendt Elementary would like to thank everyone for their continued support and hope that everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday!
