Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The Naselle-Grays River Valley School District Board of Directors met for its monthly meeting on November 17.
In personnel business, the superintendent’s evaluation was conducted.
Four policies were adopted by the board: Service Animals in Schools, Gifts/Donations, Grants, and Federal Cash and Financial Management.
The board approved the purchase of a 78 passenger Thomas Bus, not to exceed $139,000 including tax. Also approved by the board were an out of area teaching assignment for Rebecca Teubner (art) and a donation from Reach Out Ministries of $1,600. The board reviewed a proposed policy on Animals in Schools.
Superintendent Lisa Nelson showed a video that shop teacher Greg Nelson and his class had put together on the benefits and design work of the recently purchased 3-D printer.
Superintendent Nelson shared a plaque she had planned to present to retiring board member Robert Torppa for his years of service to the district. She thanked him and provided special commendations for the work he did as board chair for several years.
Torppa was absent from the meeting due to high water in his area but the key phrase that was emphasized on his plaque was anyone can lead when the seas are calm.
