Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce will kick off the 2015 Holiday Season with the 11th Annual Festival of Trees celebration beginning Monday, November 23.
For the past 10 years, local designers, business owners, and representatives of organizations have donated holiday items with themes like “Mule Tree,” “Fishing Tree,” “Huskies Tree” and many more. The designer with the donation that receives the highest bid wins $100.
Anyone interested in designing a tree, wreath, garland, or anything holiday related is invited to sign up. Donated items will be on display at the Bank of Pacific in downtown Cathlamet from November 23 to December 14. Throughout this time, visitors and locals will have the opportunity to view the items and place a silent bid on their favorites. Proceeds will go to the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce for future holiday lights and decorations.
Entry forms will be available on Monday, November 16 at the Bank of the Pacific, at the Wahkiakum Chamber, and on the Chamber website: wahkiakumchamber.com. Bring the form with the decorated item to the Bank of the Pacific starting on Monday, November 23.
