Richard “Dick” Snyder, 90, of Cathlamet died on October 31, 2015 in Skamokawa. He was born to Joseph and Ivanna (Cvar) Snyder in Longview, on September 15, 1925. Dick was raised in Klamath Falls, Ore., and graduated from Klamath Falls Union High in 1944. He lived all of his working life in that area where he married Bonnie Ward Snyder on March 4, 1952. They raised their three children there.
Dick joined the army and was in Korea during the Korean War. He worked as an engineer for Oregon, California and Eastern Railway for 42 years retiring in 1985. In 1987 he moved to Cathlamet, enjoying his retirement there.
Dick was a 64 year member of the Klamath Falls Elks and a longtime member of Skyline Golf Course. He liked golf, cutting wood, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by a daughter Susan Elliott (Bob) of Swiss Home, Ore., two sons, Bruce Snyder (Julie) of Klamath Falls and Brent Snyder of Hobbs, NM, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie in 1979 and a brother Bob Snyder.
