Westend news:

Lots of folks enjoy a good romantic story, and the Grays River Valley free library invites you to enjoy “Tea and Sympathy” for the whole month of October, Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Romance isn’t the only choice you have as we also have hundreds of paperbacks in many other genres, western, sci-fi, mystery, etc., for your borrowing pleasure. Our hallway is lined with full bookshelves for you to choose from.

If you are so inclined we also have a comfy sofa and several chairs for you to relax and enjoy some quiet time and a hot cup of tea or coffee, inside the community computer center and Grays River Valley Library.

Are you and the kiddos ready for a night of fun, trick or treating in the spooky ol’ Rosburg School? All Hallows Eve is almost here. This year we will open up for the young ones at 4:30 p.m and invite them to knock on each door in the building, to collect their treats.

Following their trick or treating, we will provide free popcorn and punch in the cafeteria as well as cartoons and a movie. Bring the whole family for a night of fun, inside and out of the weather.

We can still use a couple more volunteers just to make sure we have all bases covered, so if you are interested in helping out please call me at 465-2960

Earlier in the day, the Annual Holiday Bazaar, sponsored by the Rosburg Community Club, will be held on October 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rosburg Hall.

With something for everyone on the vendor tables, you can start your holiday shopping and spend your money locally. They always have hand made crafts including clothing, kitchen items, art work, canned goods, home made food items and baked goods, wood work, etc. Check out the variety and reasonable prices.

Their famous baked chicken lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and includes their delicious home made desserts and salads. If you are interested in renting a space to sell your items please call Barbara Rose at 465-2234. Space is limited, so call soon.

The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets at the Rosburg Hall each week for lunch prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteers.
