On October 5, 2015, a 16-year-old Wahkiakum High School student was taken into custody after allegedly threatening his classmates. He is being charged with two counts of harassment—threats to kill.
Court documents said that during a conversation with the two classmates at school, the juvenile allegedly fantasized about torture, threatened to shoot up the school and when confronted, told his classmates that they “would be one of the first ones to go.”
The parent of one of the students who had received the alleged threat called the sheriff’s office to report the incident later that day.
The juvenile was held at Cowlitz County Juvenile Detention Center until a $5,000 bail was posted on October 7. He remains in the custody of a guardian and is required to meet with a probation officer. No-contact orders were put in place to protect the two students who reported the incident. The individual is not to contact them and will not be allowed on school grounds.
The juvenile is scheduled to be arraigned on October 19.
