ADA accessibility change at Forks Creek Hatchery

ADA accessible fishing will broaden at Forks Creek Hatchery in Pacific County for anglers with disabilities. The change is set for Oct. 1, 2015 through Jan. 28, 2016.

Surplus coho, hatchery chinook and hatchery steelhead exist to provide expanded opportunities for sport fisheries with ADA access only.

Qualifying anglers are those with lower extremity disabilities who must permanently use a medically prescribed assistive device every time for mobility as defined in WAC 232-12-825(1)(a) and who have been issued a designated harvester companion card to fish within the designated ADA Access Area from the adult weir at Forks Creek Hatchery upstream 500 feet to the fishing boundary sign.

Anglers and/or harvesters must follow all applicable fishing regulations, and must yield ramp access to persons permanently using a wheelchair.
