Redmen Hall plans new exhibit

The current exhibit at Redmen Hall in Skamokawa - "Clay and Fiber" with Bob Kizziar's ceramics and Jenny Kizziar's weaving - will end this weekend.

The next exhibit will open October 10 and will feature Charlie Funk, a Chinook artist from Chehalis. He has been a featured artist at the Columbia River Heritage Museum and Ft. Clatsop. His inspiration has been the Willapa Harbor, the Columbia River and his Chinook heritage. He will be showing his oils and watercolors, and his woodcarvings of Chinook subjects.

He attended the Art Center School in Los Angeles and Central Washington University. He has been teaching and working as an artist, and has been doing political cartoons and designing a line of Native American designs on t-shirts and other items. Redmen Hall has been carrying some of these t-shirts and designed items for several months which will be available during the exhibit.

His work is a stunning addition to Redmen Hall's featured exhibits of the talented Artists of Southwestern Washington. The Exhibit will run from October 10 to November 22. Redmen Hall is open Thursday through Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. It is located at 1394 W SR4 in Skamokawa. For more information call Redmen Hall (360-795-3007) during open hours.
