Terry Stanley Everman, 69, died suddenly Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Orlando Airport in Orlando, Florida as he awaited his flight connection home. Terry was born on February 17, 1946 in Longview, Washington to Stanley and Alice (Bryant) Everman.
Terry grew up in his beloved Cathlamet where he graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1964 followed by graduation from Washington State University with a degree in Construction Management then enlisted in the United States Navy. Terry worked in the construction engineering department of Standard Oil of California with the last 34 years as Construction Project Manager with Jamestown Metal Marine Sales, Boca Raton, Florida.
Given Terry's occupation he and his family Sandy, Zak and Alex traveled and lived across the United States logging in 14+ moves in 20 years. Twenty four years ago the final move from Savannah, Georgia to Cathlamet to raise Zak and Alex as well as fulfilling their lifelong retirement dream which required bi-coastal living for the past 24 years; tragically Terry was six short months of fulfilling his retirement dream.
Terry's first and foremost priority was his total devotion and love of his family, he enjoyed rowing, kayaking, tennis but his true love was boat building, his last project being a 16' electric tug boat the 'Dockhouse Queen' taking 1st place in its class at the 2014 Elochoman Slough Marina Wooden Boat Show, in addition the Dockhouse Queen was published as a feature article in the May 2015 Small Boats Monthly.
Terry was preceded in death by Alice Bryant Everman (mother), Mary Jean Nilsen Smith (mother-in-law), Michael Neil Smith (brother-in-law) and Griffin Francis-James Everman (grandson).
Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 43+ years Sandy Everman, sons Alexander Everman and Zachary Everman, Zak's wife Amy and Bennett Everman (son); Stanley Everman (father), Curtis Everman (brother), Karen Everman Davis (sister) and Gerald Davis (brother-in-law), Mike Davis (nephew) Jane Davis (wife) and Stephanie, Alyson, Geoff and Isaiah Davis (children), Greg Davis (nephew) and Katherine Davis (wife).
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for Terry Everman may be made to the Cathlamet Fire Fighters Association, PO Box 539, Cathlamet, WA 98612.
