Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
A new event to check out during this year’s Bald Eagle Days is Trivia Night on Friday, July 17. The event is sponsored by the parents of this year's cheer team at Wahkiakum High School. All money raised will be donated to the cheer program to help pay for uniforms and camp.
Participants are encouraged to form teams of four or five. The entry fee for each team will be $30. There will be four rounds of trivia. Each round will have 10 questions on a variety of topics.
There will be prizes for the winning team and raffles between rounds. Cheer team parents will sell root beer floats, tacos-in-a-bag, and other items.
“I really hope we get a good turn out,” Kate Brenner, the new cheer advisor, said. “It's going to be a fun event. We have 13 cheerleaders this year that need our support. Cheerleading is an expensive activity, and we want everyone to have the opportunity to participate. That’s why this fundraising event is so important.”
The competition is July 17 from 6-9 p.m. at the River Mile 38 Brewing Company.
Tsuga Gallery will also be open that Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. to celebrate their fourth anniversary. David McKenzie will perform and refreshments and new exhibits are promised.
